gastrobar

Le Rooftop by Miranove sits atop the Miranove appart'hôtel in Montpellier, a four-star "Work, Live & Sleep" concept on the banks of the Lez in the Port Marianne district. The venue is made up of two complementary spaces, both offering a panoramic view over the Lez and the city's contemporary architecture: a luminous indoor panoramic rooftop on the 7th floor, elegant behind its large bay windows, and a more laid-back open-air rooftop bar on the 6th floor, ideal for a cocktail or tapas in a convivial, open-air setting. Open seven days a week, it shifts through the day from coffee shop to lunch, afterwork cocktails, dinner, and weekend brunch — each service designed as an experience.

Up on the 7th floor, the panoramic restaurant offers a refined, bistronomic cuisine where the chef blends Mediterranean and international influences while showcasing regional, seasonal produce. The lunch card runs from a daily plat du jour and weekly specials (such as heirloom-tomato carpaccio with burrata, filet mignon with a tarragon-mustard sauce, or sea bream with a tonka-leek beurre blanc) to dishes like a sashimi-quality Angus beef tartare with black olives and cream cheese, a Caesar or Italian salad, and a fish of the moment. In the evening, starters such as a burrata with plural tomatoes and gariguette strawberries, a ceviche with green asparagus and blood orange, or a farm egg with miso-carrot cream and Colonnata lard lead into mains like the catch of the day with a pea-mint-lemon cream, pork filet mignon or Angus beef with herb duxelles, or vegetable conchiglioni with aubergine caviar — finishing with desserts like the hazelnut Impérial, the coconut Exotique, a lemon tart, or a slate of Aveyron cheeses. Weekends bring a generous brunch formula, with savoury plates like a smoked-trout tartine, a porchetta bun, or a cheeseburger alongside pancakes, Brussels waffles, and granola.

The 6th-floor rooftop bar is the place to unwind after a busy day — for an afterwork with colleagues, an apéritif with friends, or a quiet solo moment. Its "À partager… ou pas" menu offers Iberian charcuterie and cheese platters, stracciatella Perla Bianca, beef tartare, a fish ceviche, and a smoked-mozzarella bruschetta, all built around a creative drinks list. The bar's signature cocktails range from the Grain Sauvage and Dirty Chaï Martini to the smoky Tonkasstête and the Nova Maï Taï, alongside classics, a thoughtful alcohol-free selection, local craft beers, and a coffee-shop list of lattes, matcha and ube drinks, frappés, smoothies, and homemade iced teas. The wine list, curated by the in-house sommelière, leans proudly local — Pic Saint-Loup, Faugères, Picpoul de Pinet, Terrasses du Larzac, and the Côtes Catalanes — while reaching out to Burgundy, Chablis, Bordeaux, and Champagne.

With its two distinct atmospheres, its all-day rhythm, its inventive cooking, and that unbeatable view over the Lez, Le Rooftop by Miranove is a stylish yet relaxed place to settle in at any moment of the day — from a morning coffee to a panoramic dinner or a sunset cocktail high above Port Marianne. Privatisation is also possible on request.
