Havre de la Brunante is a solo exhibition by Montreal-based artist Johanne Bernier, presented at the Montreal Art Center and Museum from July 31 to August 13, 2026. The exhibition is open daily from 11:00 to 17:00.
Bernier's work treats nature as a "sumptuous theatre", weaving together wind, light, flowers, rain and trees into a peaceful visual language. Her canvases are rendered in vibrant mixed oil techniques that blend texture and colour to evoke a sense of harmony with the natural world.
Bernier came to oil painting roughly six years ago, initially exploring the medium alongside her granddaughter after a lifelong love of the outdoors shaped by childhood camping trips. Her work has previously been featured in the Emerging Artists Exhibition at the Montreal Art Center and Museum, as well as in a group exhibition with the Milan Art Institute held in Greece.
The exhibition is located at 1844 Rue William, Montreal, QC H3J 1R5.
