Bachar Mar-Khalifé brings his heartfelt tribute to the iconic French singer Christophe to the Opéra Comédie in Montpellier as part of Festival Arabesques. The project was born from a first meeting between the two artists in 2018 during a Unik session co-organised by FIP and ADAMI at the Maison de la Radio, where they recorded an original piece written and composed by Bachar, performed as a duo: Jnoun.
In spring 2025, on the fifth anniversary of Christophe's passing, Bachar Mar-Khalifé celebrated his legacy at the exceptional setting of the Théâtre Zingaro, reuniting with his long-standing collaborators Dogan Poyraz and Aleksander Angelov — the trio's first performance together since their 2022 album A Live in Paris.
For this Montpellier date, the trio revisits Christophe's singular repertoire, blending jazz sensibility with the poetic universe of a beloved French pop figure. The concert is one of a handful of exclusive dates on which the project resumes touring.
