Jeh Martinez is a Montreal-based painter of Afro-Latin heritage whose work engages with psychological, cultural, and social issues — particularly those affecting women.
Her canvases blend vivid colours with nostalgic imagery and occasionally raw subject matter, creating a deliberate contrast between the softness of childhood memories and harsher realities, while affirming that beauty can be found even in difficult circumstances.
