Every Thursday, Le Salon des Indépendants transforms into a full-on cypher: tables and chairs are cleared out to place a single beatmaker and one microphone at the centre of the room. There is no sign-up or registration — any rapper who shows up can step up and take their turn on the mic.
Two beatmakers supply live instrumental productions throughout the night, giving MCs a constantly evolving backdrop for their freestyles. The mic rotates from artist to artist in an open, collaborative spirit true to hip-hop cypher culture.
The session runs from 21:00 to 01:00 and entry is completely free.
